This laser emits a beam just 0.7mm in diameter, at a precise 532nm.
532nm is exactly in the emerald-green part of the visible light spectrum, and laser light of this wavelength is excellent for the treatment of dilated capillaries/telangiectasia.
It is also highly absorbed by melanin.
These I can trace with this laser, usually seeing them disappear before my eyes.
The effect is like spot-welding, as the laser damages the little vessels making them close up there and then.
These are SO easy to treat with this laser!
I'm often amazed that people put up with these unsightly lesions on their bodies when they are SO easy to treat and fix. People who keep their homes and their cars and their gardens immaculate, whose clothes are flawless and hair coiffured, yet neglect their skin aesthetic.
Certainly these lesions do not represent disease, are safe and harmless, but that is not the point.
Just do us all a favour, please.
Some people, especially those with mediterranean, middle eastern or south asian skin, are prone to developing pigmented skin tags especially around the neck or wherever skin rubs on other skin (think about it).
These are REALLY easy to shoot off with this laser.
If you are genetically prone to getting these then you might get more in future, but tidy up the ones you have. You won't regret, as this is a simple and highly successful treatment.
Dark lentigos, dermatosis papulosis nigra, and other benign pigmented lesions that are dark, superficial and thin will respond well to treatments with this laser.
Thick lesions need another approach.
Very light-coloured lesions (lighter than "latte") will need another approach.
Pigmented lesions sitting deep in the dermis (often blue-grey rather than brown) don't respond well to this laser.
On the other hand, freckles are *easy* to treat.
