Mesotherapy is an injected treatment into the "mesoderm", hence the name, performed in order to treat cellulite or unwanted subcutaneous fat. Properly, "mesotherapy" can include injecting a wide range of substances purported to improve cellulite, but the evidence base for most of these substances is pretty thin. We therefore inject only those 1-2 substances demonstrated unequivocally to reduce unwanted fat.
Lipodissolve is a term used to describe the injection, specifically, of those 1-2 substances demonstrated unequivocally to reduce unwanted fat.
The Australian TGA does not allow discussion, on a doctor's website, of the specifics of any scheduled medication. Such conversations must occur only in consultation.
At Peach, lipodissolve has the following uses:
Jowl Reduction: After one or two or three treatments your jowls will be reduced *forever*. When fat cells are killed they are killed forever and do not come back (remaining fat cells may enlarge or shift, of course, with weight changes or age, but you'll always be better off than you *would* have been had you not had the treatment)
.
Under-chin fat: Same deal as with jowls. Improve your profile. And - better to do while you are young, as reducing fat in older people might reduce fat but leave skin looseness (as occurs with weight loss anyway).
Even out past liposuction irregularities: Lipodissolve can help turn a good result into a better result after liposuction, diminishing persisting bumps
Bingo-wings, tuck-shop arms aka tricep/upper arm fat: These areas also respond to lipodissolve, and as with other areas the idea is to reduce the fat enough to improve the look *without* going so far as to leave looseness.
Man-boobs/gynaecomastia: Lipodissolve is a reasonable alternative if you want to avoid liposuction if the degree of gynaecomastia is mild to moderate. Severe gynaecomastia probably warrants liposuction first.
Bra-bumps and any other small or small-ish area of excess fat: These sorts of areas are too small to really warrant actual liposuction. Lipodissolve is less expensive, and is much more likely to deliver an *even* result.
Lipodissolve is not really a substitute for liposuction over large areas or if a lot of fat needs removing. It is too slow for big areas, and with repeated treatments costs add up. There is also a maximum dose that can be given on each treatment occasion. If in doubt come in for a consultation.
That said, if your need is relatively subtle, or if the area needs improving following liposuction elsewhere *then* lipodissolve can deliver an improved outcome.
interestingly, *not even liposuction* delivers ongoing weight loss if lifestyle does not change. So, no, lipodissolve kills fat cells but that does *not* deliver weight loss.
Weight loss requires a different approach.
Lipodissolve is all about surface change and shape change, *not* weight loss.
